Samantha Mohr
In her first pageant, at the suggestion of another fellow UGA students, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. Mohr became eligible to be a part of the Miss Georgia pageant, which began in June. Mohr was the winner of Saturday's competition, June 22 1985. Over $3500 was given Mohr's scholarship funds as well as other prizes. Her title was Miss Georgia as well as made public appearances all over Georgia in the course of her obligations. Mohr represented Georgia in the Miss America 1986 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey during September of 1985. Mohr was a one-in-one chance of winning the Miss America title. Computer models proved reliable in predicting Susan Akin's success. Mohr didn't make the list of the top 10 contenders for the national crown. Mohr's tenure as Miss Georgia lasted until she succeeded her successor Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28th on June 28, 1986.
